Design Documents

Design documents preparation involves a team approach on all projects with the number of phased steps matched to the project’s complexity. Most large projects use the three-step approach of schematic design, design development, and construction documents. All deliverables are in AutoCAD or REVIT format. Specifications generally use the AIA Master Spec three-part format in book form or notes on drawings.

The firm has invested in training and certification for its staff and is proud to have members of our staff with the following certifications:

  • Professional Engineer
  • Engineer-In-Training
  • Certified Geo-exchange Designer

Historic Preservation

LFG understands the need to maintain stable indoor environments for preservation of collections, artifacts, artwork and other media. We apply special care when designing systems to maintain indoor relative humidity and air quality to protect historic buildings and their contents.

RFP and Bid Services

LFG offers pre- and post-bid services including preparation of Bid Manuals and Requests for Proposals. During the bid phase, we can participate in bid leveling, contractor qualification, cost analyses, and evaluation of contractor proposed alternatives.

Construction Technical Support

Construction support services are essential to ensure timely installation schedules and quality contractor workmanship. Shop drawing review and RFIs are given a high priority. Periodic project site inspections and progress meetings are attended by the same project team throughout to ensure continuity of project goals.

In recent years there has been an ever increasing presence of computers in the operation of building HVAC systems as well as fire safety and security. As such, it has now become an important part of initial building start-ups to provide engineering assistance to the owner in learning the dynamics of their new equipment. Our professional services have helped to quickly assist in repairs and adjustments to prevent costly shut downs. We offer Commissioning services on projects we have designed or can serve as a third-party commissioning agent.
